City of Shawnee residents will have an opportunity to vote on four Propositions at the Special Election to be held June 26 (see summary sheet). Approval of Propositions #1-3 would modify the City’s Charter to clarify when City Commissioners and the Vice-Mayor are seated and allow for the City to call an election by resolution.
If approved, Proposition #4 would raise City sales tax by one-half of one percent for 10 years. The proposal would provide approximately $30 million for public safety, streets and roads, parks and other major public facilities. A complete project list can be viewed here.
