On April 4th, we had 94 seniors join us during national “Health week” as we completed a 1/2 or 1-mile leisure walk together around historic Downtown Shawnee. It was a completely stunning day with great weather!
Making this event happen was a community effort and we wanted to thank all of our sponsors as well as some heroes who made it more special whom I will mention here. We wanted to especially thank the Shawnee Police Department for helping to direct traffic for our event. We also wanted to thank the Doggie Spot for providing walking entertainment with adorable and well-behaved pups in training. Lastly, we wanted to thank those who provided water stops for our walk.
